Message from the Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee of the National Tax Clinic program is pleased to present its 2024 annual report.

Published 22 October 2025

The National Tax Clinic program continues to demonstrate the impact of collaboration between educational institutions, government, and community organisations. In 2024, the program supported over 6,500 unrepresented taxpayers across Australia, offering practical assistance, education, and advocacy to those who need it most.

This report captures the collective efforts of students, staff, and partners working across metropolitan, regional, and remote settings. It also highlights how the program continues to evolve in response to emerging needs, including outreach to Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) workers, targeted support for Indigenous communities, and growing demand for assistance in cases involving financial abuse, identity theft, and complex vulnerabilities.

Throughout the year, we have witnessed first-hand the dedication, compassion, and professionalism shown by clinic teams nationwide. Their work not only provides vital support to the community but also equips the next generation of tax professionals with the skills, values, and experience they need to lead with integrity.

We acknowledge the continued support of the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Government and our many partners who help make this program possible. Together, we are building a more inclusive and responsive tax system that leaves no one behind.

We thank everyone involved in the program for their contributions throughout 2024 and look forward to the continued growth and impact of the National Tax Clinic network.
